Congratulations to Tim Beaver of Broome Avenue East Goscote for finishing 15th in the Devizes to Westminster canoe race over the Easter weekend.

Tim, a Scout Cub leader and his crew mate Michael Brooks entered the race for 78th Leicester, 1st Thurmaston Scouts Group and won the Cup that is awarded to Scout entries.

The race is over a distance of 125miles, Tim and Michael started at10.59 am on Easter Saturday morning and finished the race at 07.28am on Easter Sunday morning they were placed 15th with a time of 20.29 hrs. More »

On Monday 2nd February, we woke to a beautiful winter scene of snow covering the ground and roof tops. Many children enjoyed the snow after school by taking their sledges to the mound. On Tuesday Broomfield was closed and many more children (and adults) made the most of this opportunity. For some of the children, this was probably the first time they have seen snow of this amount.

Have you seen our new and improved library? It's lovely! We have a new building and it is a great improvement, inside feels very welcoming and bright. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They now have excellent computer facilities and more room to have a sit down and a read. Please make use of this improved service by having a look and if not already a member why not become one.
