    Anyone wishing to advertise to our village, can do so by placing an article in our local magazine, The Long Furrow. To contact the editor please telephone 0116 2607410

  • Animal fouling

    18 Red dog bins are provided throughout the parish for dog waste. Bagged dog waste may also be left in the black waste bins. Please do your bit for your village and clean up after your pets, thank you. The parish provides animal waste bags free of charge. They are available from the parish office.

    The Parish Council manages the village green, mound area and playing fields and open spaces to Lilac Way.

  • Council offices

    The council offices are situated at the rear of the Village Hall on Long furrow. Office Opening Hours are Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9.30am - 3.00pm Tel 0116 2602202

  • Crime prevention

    We are fortunate to live in a low crime area however we do receive regular crime updates from the local police liason officer at Syston and any items of local interest will be posted on this site within the news section as well as on the notice boards and within the parish magazine "Long Furrow" which is delivered to parishoners every quarter.

  • Disabled parking

    Disabled Parking is available in Ling Dale, adjacent to the Church, School and Library and also in Merchants Common giving access to the shopping precinct

  • Dog litter bins

  • Drainage and sewerage

    The Parish Council is not directly responsible for drainage or sewage but please let us know if you spot a problem and we will inform the appropriate authority to ensure a rapid fix.

  • Entertainment and events

  • Footpaths (rights of way)

    There are rights of way (footpaths & bridleways) throughout the Parish. Leicestershire County Council are responsible for the maintenance of the paths and signage. If you encounter a problem when out walking please let us know. We will then inform the appropriate department at County Hall.

  • Grass cutting (garden maintenance)

    The Parish Council is responsible for grass at various locations throughout the parish, although Leicester County Council carry out most of the cutting.

    Our Village Hall in East Goscote is for hire for parties and local events. For bookings please contact 0116 2602202.

  • Parks and grounds maintenance

    Our parks and grounds are maintained by our village caretakers. Any problems or comments can be made via the council office 0116 2602202 or to the Village Hall caretaker on 07908 504757.

  • Planning applications

    The Parish Council consider and pass comment to the planning department at Charnwood Borough Council on all local planning applications.

  • Playgrounds

    The Parish Council is responsible for the management of the play areas at Ling Dale, Lilac Way and the mound. Should you find any faults please contact 0116 2602202.

  • Public meetings

    Members of the public are welcome to attend meetings at the Parish Council. Meeting dates are the second Wednesday of every month.

    There is a recycling centre at Merchants Common, East Goscote. Green and red bags can be collected from the Parish Council offices.
